ArcelorMittal had a first PushWrapper installed at the Vanderbiljpark steel mill already in 2021. After positive results during the first year, ArcelorMittal has decided to install another PushWrapper and two MultiWrappers for 2 other production lines on site. They will be installed during 2023.
The MultiWrapper is an automated stretch-film wrapping solution that uses two ABB robots to apply the film tightly and through the coil eye for minimal air inclusion. A standard-sized coil is wrapped and ready in only 4 minutes. The solution includes automated film roll exchange and is ready for smart automation with Industry 4.0.
Lamiflex’s South African subsidiary, headed by Jonathan Mkansi will provide service and supply the Vanderbiljpark steel mill with relevant coil packaging materials.
